Robert Hunt Robinson is a top level voice instructor who has taught in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Robert teaches the traditional Italian Garcia-Marchesi technique which includes Bel Canto breath strengthening exercises. This artistic technique produces a free voice that embodies an enormous range both dynamic and tonal. It is the essential key to singing any style, be it opera or rock.
Robert's own vocal studies began under Dr. Lorraine Buffington, the critically acclaimed soprano at the New York Met, and, more recently continued with Edward Sayegh, the internationally renowned specialist in the Garcia-Marchesi technique. He has also worked with Albert Detoulio, who coached all the Metropolitan Opera leads over the last forty years.
Robert himself has performed in over 150 productions world-wide. Ranging from the more obscure - Grant Cassidy from "Prom Queens Unchained" - to his most recent musical at the Woodminster Amphitheatre where he played the Pirate King in the "Pirates of Penzance". His most notable production was singing all the baritone roles in Cameron Macintosh’s "Hey Mister Producer".
At the John Scott School of Voice Robert hopes to engage the next generation of vocalists, equipping them with all the skills necessary to create a fulfilling and productive singing career. "I like to remove the mystery of the singing process and teach my students how to sing with the voice of their dreams. I will work with any level of singer, as long as they are willing to commit to the hard work necessary to produce a gorgeous singing voice." says Robert.
