I love the way that an unknown singer like Tessanne Chin can suddenly get the attention of the world by singing with amazing power, skill and passion. Coming from Jamacia, her accent is beautiful and automatically gives her very high cool factor for those of us who love Reggae music. But it is her very powerful and soulful singing that puts her on the top of the list of favorites to win “The Voice” this year.
She had the judges scrambling to get her to join their team, for good reason. She has a high mix of chest voice and head voice that is absolute magic. She has a very coordinated pharynx–the resonance of her head voice is perfectly aligned with her chest voice giving her an ease and power that really transforms the listener:
